Meleek Thomas NBA Draft Potential
Due to his ability to score and shoot, Thomas was slotted in as a late first-round player prior to the 2026 Draft. He was projected as high as 22nd, but ultimately fell to No.34 due to general worries about him being able to score effectively and also defend on the next level. His 27.3-points per game on 50% shooting in Summer League already has doubts evaporating and makes him a potential future starter for Cleveland.
Analysts highlight his scoring polish for the NBA level, not a true wing, and off-the-dribble creation work as strengths, along with improved playmaking. If he improves defensively, Thomas could evolve into a viable NBA starter and an important part of the Cavaliers’ backcourt.
